STEVEN JACOBY

advisor

My name is Mr. Jacoby and this will be my 17th year as advisor of the best Key Club in New York, the Bayside High School Key Club.  Over the past 10 years, I have had the opportunity to participate in hundreds of community service events all over the city with the most amazing Key Club members!
Every year we attend charity walks including the Light the Night Walk to help raise money in the fight against Leukemia and Lymphoma.  We also attend the Juvenile Diabetes Walk, the Breast Cancer Walk, and the AIDS Walk every year.  Every October we raise money for UNICEF (in 2008 the Bayside High School Key raised $4006.83 which was the most in the entire country!)  In April we collect money to donate to the March of Dimes.  Once a month, 10 members visit the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island to cook meals for families with seriously ill children in the hospital.  Another really fun event we participate in every year is New York Cares Day.  At this event Key Club members help beautify our parks and schools by painting and planting flowers and plants.
If you have been a Key Club member in the past, I hope you join again this year and continue to dedicate yourself to your home, school and community.  If you have never been a member of Key Club before, I hope you decide to join this year so you can be part of the largest student run community service organization in the world.  If you ever have any questions please feel free to ask me, my office is located in the S.O office in room 131. I look forward to meeting all of you during a future meeting or event.

president

Hey Key Clubbers! My name is Norma Flores and I’ll be serving as your 2023-2024 president. It’s truly an honor to have an opportunity like this, Key Club has impacted my life in the best of ways ever since my first event. In a way, Key Club has contributed a lot to my current high school experience, not only have I been able to give back to my community but have also been able to meet new friends, make bonds and memories. Nothing beats the feeling of throwing color run powder at runners as they do a 5k, motivating them and all this while having a fun time with your friends. Or attending an amusement park fundraiser, riding all the scary rides and getting to witness the sunset, such a beautiful view. All this becomes a memorable experience, and so I hope that you all decide to give this a try. I am absolutely excited for this new service year, to meet and know every single one of you. I can’t wait to see what this new service year brings for us!

Hey Key-uties! ♡ It’s your new bestie, Alsubah here! I’m serving as your 2023-2024 Vice President! I’m so excited to have the chance to get to know all of you, go to some fun events, and make memories! A little bit about myself: I have been in Key Club since freshman year, I was in the Arts and Media Committee last service year (through being on the arts and media committee, I had the opportunity to make the Non-Digital poster that won us first place at LTC!), and I have technically been involved with Key Club for 7 years now! When having an older sister who could literally do anything, you truly want to follow in their footsteps and do everything that they did. And something that my older sister put her heart and soul into was Key Club (and Circle K, once she was in college haha)! After joining her with some events/fundraisers, I decided that I wanted to be more involved. But I will admit— after joining Key Club during my freshman year, going to the meetings and events, and seeing the wonderful family-like atmosphere everyone created, I found my love for Key Club all on my own. Haha enough with the sentimentals! I cannot nearly describe how happy I am to have the opportunity to serve as your next Vice President! I can’t wait to work alongside everyone on this year’s board and committees. And with my experiences, impeccable social skills (), and my genuine love for Key Club, I will make it my mission to make sure every key clubber feels welcomed and that this service year is a success! With that being said, please feel free to reach out to me whenever you have any questions, concerns, or just need someone to talk to! ♡

krissana Pornpitaksuk

Hello!!! My name is Krissana and as your 2023-2024 secretary, I look forward to meeting everyone! I joined Key Club in my freshman year from a recommendation from my friend and over the past two years, I’ve made great memories doing volunteer work with my friends. Through Key Club, I’ve met many new people, not only from Bayside, but from different schools as well and my passion for this club continues to grow. I am beyond excited to make more memories in the new term. I love meeting new people so don’t be shy if you ever want to come up and talk to me. Let’s all laugh and smile as we share fun experiences together this service year.

Noah Yoon

Hey Key Club, how do we feel??? I know I feel GREAT about how this service year is going to go. My name is Noah Yoon and I am one of your secretaries for the 2023-2024 service year. I will be working with the other secretary, the board, and service members in order to fulfill my job requirements completely, such as filling in all of your hours, leading events, and managing all the paperwork. Key Club has been an extraordinary medium for my personal growth as I was able to meet many new friends and develop many useful skills. I joined Key Club at the start of freshman year and also was in the Public Relations Committee since freshman year, but as I started to go to events and participate more, I realized that this club isn’t just another club, it’s a family. Although I may not know some of you guys, please don’t ever be afraid to talk to me; I’d love to get to know all of you! The KEY to this club is all of you who spend your weekends helping others! Once again, let’s make 2023-2024 another fabulous year of service and I’ll see you all at those events!

Yi Lu Zheng

Heyoooo! My name is Yi Lu Zheng and I will be serving as your 2023-2024 treasurer. I initially joined Key Club because it was a way for me to step out of my comfort zone and out of my introversion to serve my community. Since my first event, the Alzheimer's Walk, I realized the underlying principles that Key Club truly holds: to be a role model through leadership, caring, inclusiveness, and character building (AKA our core values!). As I continue to watch Key Club grow, I am excited to see what we can accomplish this year, the new friends that we'll make along the way, create long-lasting memories, and strive at every opportunity. Remember, never be afraid to come up to talk to me. Don't forget to join our upcoming events and fundraisers. I'll meet you guys there! :D

Hello Keyclubbers!! My name is Karine Zhuo and I will be serving as your 2023-2024 editor! I first joined Key Club my freshman year, starting off in the Scrapbook Committee. After peeking through so many newsletters, I was inspired to be the next editor. It is a great honor to be a part of such a wonderful community. I am super duper excited to meet and work with new people! To me, Key Club is a place to step out of your comfort zone and truly express yourself. As your editor, I am determined to work hard, manage my time, and produce quality agendas and newsletters! Can’t wait to see you all at events :)

Hey Key Clubbies! My name is Nicole Lin. I am currently a sophomore here at bayside High school. I will be serving as your webmistress for the 2023-2024 service year! I remember the first time I came across Key Club was actually on Instagram. At first like many of you, I thought Key Club was a club that makes keys. But, I was wrong, totally wrong! So cliché but we actually don’t make keys, well not the type that you probably think of. We actually make keys to unlock many opportunities. I remember the summer before my freshman year I came across an eye catching post that enticed me to join Key Club. So I truly believe that Social Media is super important since it’s usually the first impression you get of things. A job of mine as webmistress is to make eye catching posts like the one I saw on social media to help recruit more members and introduce Key Club to everyone! Just remember when you see me SMILE!! So hey Bayside High School Key Club how do you feel?
